So I figured I should maybe try and update this thing since we'll be moving soon. A lot has happened since the last post....Husband/Father has returned, I got (then had to quit) a great job at Parkview Medical Center, found out we're moving to the Kansas/Missouri border, and found a new house to buy! Whew! That's a lot! Additionally Shaun Easton was officially diagnosed with Pervasive Developmental Disorder or PDD. He also was screened for Autism--and since PDD is on the Autism Spectrum....we have a special little boy that just happens to have Autism. We're working with 2 Speech therapists, have a little OT going on and he has a wonderful behavioral therapist that comes to our home for his sessions. I'm hoping to find equally fantastic people to work with Shaun Easton in Missouri. The school district he's going into (Platte County) is highly rated and even has Autism classrooms!
So here's our official family update:
Daddy is home! Shane will be the Chief of the PT Clinic at Ft. Leavenworth. :) Lately though, he's been busy still seeing patients at the clinic here at Ft. Carson and getting all our new house loan stuff finalized.
Me! Busy trying to get stuff together for the move, fielding about a million calls about renting our current house (BTW--people are flakes!), don't tell me you're going to come see the house and have me clean it all up...only to not show up! Sheesh!! That's happened more than a few times. Anywho, I'm busy being 'Mommy', shuttling Shaun Easton to his appointments and making sure Carson isn't putting dangerous things in his mouth...since that's where everything goes that hits his hot little hands.
Superstar x 10! Speech is going well...he's making more and more sounds every week. Still no words, but we're hopeful! Shaun Easton is busy running, running, running. He NEVER sits down. Loves the Leapfrog video 'Letter Factory', which is annoying, but great.
Ah Carson! Here he is with his Gigi. Those eyes!! They are just like Great Grandma Freeman's!! They are darker than Shane's which suggests to me that he got them from my side. He's such a good boy. A big boy as well! Today he actually wore an outfit that Shaun Easton wore last summer! We're battling eczema, but hopefully the humdity in MO will help that out.
So that's us in a nutshell for now. Here's hoping this blog will 1)Stay active and 2) update our family and friends on our adventures!
